The Acorn Sr. Lady tigers made Tiger history when they beat Mount Ida last Thursday on Senior Night. This put them undefeated in the conference. This is Coach Mike Jackson's first team ever to do so, and he has been coaching at Acorn for 20 years. The team had some struggles at the beginning of the season, losing to Kirby and Caddo in the same week. They have overcome many obstacles and hope to make it even further. The Ouachita River School District wishes them luck for the rest of the season!!
Q: What makes this year's Sr. Girls basketball team different from your past teams?
A : "All teams have different personalities and different styles. This team reminds a lot of some of my better teams, in that you all get along well, and seem to understand each others differences but combine those together to make us our best. We play hard and get after teams with a lot of intensity." - Mike Jackson ( Acorn Sr. Girls Head Coach) Q: How does it feel to be undefeated in conference for the first time in your career as a coach?
A: "I'm very proud of this team for accomplishing this. It's a very hard thing to do, because your conference teams know you so well. It also gives this team its own identity of accomplishment. Every team has its I've had seems to have its own thing I can remember it for and this is one for this team. I hope we have several more before we finish the year." - Mike Jackson ( Acorn Sr. Girls Head Coach)
