We had lots of fun celebrating Reading Across America this week at Oden! Today, We had a can food drive, students read unusual facts posted in the hallways (really cool facts!) and we played some cool Cat in the Hat games!
ODEN CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT: Today is HAVE A BIG HEART DAY, part of our READ ACROSS AMERICA event. The student body collected canned goods for the Montgomery County Food Pantry and Oden PTO member, Nicole Edwards, read Thidwick The Big Hearted Moose, a Dr. Seuss story about kindness, to a group of Ode Maddox Elementary students. We will continue celebrating with Oh Places You Will Go on Thursday as elementary students dress like an "older person" and high school students dress up as their "future career".

Our students at ORSD are working hard to improve their reading as we celebrate READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK! Research shows that READING ALOUD is the single most important thing you can do to help a child prepare for reading and learning.
Mrs. Howard’s & Mrs. G’s 2nd grade students celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday yesterday by reading, reading, reading! They are working hard to meet our reading challenge goal this week.

Ode Maddox Elementary has enjoyed celebrating Read Across America week. Monday Mr. Edwards read aloud to students. Students then tried to see how many hats they could stack. We are participating in a school wide reading challenge this week! Keep reading! We can reach our goal!

Acorn Prom will be April 17th at Grace Bible Church!! Pictures are at the park at 4 p.m and Prom starts at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served and masks must be worn.

Students in Mrs. Wilson's and Mrs. Miles's kindergarten classes had a great first day celebrating Read Across America. Yesterday they wore their comfy PJ's and read to their fuzzy friends!
