Oden and Acorn Community Members,
Thank you very much for attending our parent-teacher conferences and CAPs meetings on March 17th. Our staff worked hard to make sure it was a worthwhile event. The end of the Third Nine Weeks marks the beginning of the State-Wide Testing season. Each school building will have its own set of testing dates. These tests are essential to our community as the results will show us how we can help our students. The teachers and students have worked diligently to show growth in Math, Literacy, and Science all school year. Help us be successful with this year’s testing by making sure your students are rested, are confident, and PRESENT each day of testing.

Acorn Baseball and Acorn Softball games for today have been cancelled. They have been rescheduled for April 12th.
On March 15th, the Acorn EAST class travelled to Hot Springs to attend the three-day 2022 EAST conference at the Hot Springs Convention Center. There, the team presented their booth to a panel of judges and many other schools across Arkansas! #EASTCon22

The Acorn senior high quiz bowl team competed at the regional quiz bowl tournament in Spring Hill today. They placed 3rd place and qualified for state!
Attention Oden Woods and Waters Club Members! Sign up to work the Ouachita Challenge on March 25 and you can win these prizes!
Come on out to Oden Elementary’s reading presentation in the cafeteria! Students have done an outstanding job on their digital and print presentations!

Diamond Bank Donation to OHS Recognizing FFA Week
During National FFA Week, Ruth Stovall, Bank Teller at Diamond Bank presented the Oden High School FFA Chapter of Ouachita River School District with a donation. Mr. Barry Norman is Oden High School FFA Advisor and teaches Construction Technology Program of Study on the Oden Schools’ campus. On Parent-Teacher Conferences, March 17th from 3:30-8:00, the cafeteria will will be filled with student created book presentations. Oden students in Ms. Jackson’s JAG class recently completed the ACT WorkKeys exam, where they earned their National Career Readiness Certificates. This certificate is an industry recognized credential that can aid students in entering the workforce and allowing prospective employers to see what foundational work skills these students already have.
