Oden Campus Announcement: The Mount Ida Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a census event TODAY, July 30, from noon to 3 PM in the Ode Maddox Elementary building. Come on campus and follow the signs.
Message to all parents concerning Child Find:
Child Find is a component of the 2004 Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that requires states to locate, identify, and evaluate all children with disabilities, from birth to 21, located within it's jurisdiction who are in need of early intervention or special education services. Child Find is an ongoing cooperative effort that involves state and local education agencies (LEAs). parents, the community, professionals, related organizations, and private schools. IDEA requires all states to have a "comprehensive child find system" to assure that all children who are in need of early intervention or special education services are located, identified, and referred.

ORSD is accepting sealed bids on the spiral slide pictured. If interested, submit sealed bids to the ORSD administrative office by 7/31/20.
Acorn Preschool is currently accepting applications for the 20-21 school year. Please pick up an application either from the elementary or admin offices. See filing cabinets on the front porch of either building. To secure your child’s registration, you must turn all of the following documentation along with the completed application:
2019 tax form
Social security card
Birth Certificate
Shot Record (updated)
Physical (needs to be done by first day of school on Aug. 17)

Attention Acorn High School students 7th-12th grades: Please turn in chromebooks that were checked out through the office as soon as possible. Thank you!!
Hello Acorn High School will conduct school physicals on August 6th starting at 8:00 a.m.
Due to public health guidelines related to Covid-19, Acorn students will need to arrange individual athletic physicals at their primary physician's office.
These need to be completed by the end of August to participate in athletics.

ORSD Family,
Friendly reminder that we are happy to provide most if not all K-12 school supplies again this year. All students will need a back pack for sure. We will be asking for a box of Kleenex tissue if you can provide one. Kindergartners will need a mat.

Important Announcement: The Governor has moved the start of the 20-21 School Year from August 17th to the week of August 24th. This means we are currently creating a new school calendar for the school board to approve on July 27th. We will publish the new calendar to you once our school board approves. Thank you. Thank you Acorn Community for supporting our 2020 Senior Class last night. Thank you also for following the guidelines as well. I am very thankful that we finally got honor our Acorn Senior Class together! As Superintendent of ORSD, I am fortunate to celebrate twice each year! I am looking forward to honoring our Oden Seniors tonight at Bill Kelly Gymnasium at 7:00 pm.
The Oden High School graduation ceremony will be held at the Bill Kelly Gymnasium TONIGHT July 10 @ 7 pm. GYM DOORS WILL BE OPENED AT 6:30 PM. Masks must be worn by anyone over 10. Each attendant must have a ticket. WE LOOK FORWARD TO HONORING OUR SENIORS AND THEIR FAMILIES TONIGHT!
